Frequently Asked Questions

What are the pre-requisites for the course?

What are the payment options?

The pre-requisites for each course may differ slightly depending on the requirements set by each awarding body, the specific pre-requisites can be found in the drop down information section of the course you have selected.

Currently we require payment in full at the time of booking via debit or credit card, however we are working on other payment options that we will be offering in the future.

What happens if 40 North cancels the course?

What happens if I need to cancel my course?

We require a minimum amount of people to attend a course in order for it to run effectively. Should you book a course and then decide that you cannot attend those dates or wish to cancel, we offer the following:

  • More than 14 calendar days before the course start we can offer a full refund or full credit against that value for a future course date.

  • Between 14 and 7 days  before the course start we can offer a 50% refund or full credit against that value for a future course date.

  • Less than 7 days notice we can offer a 25% refund or full credit against that value for a future course date.

We endeavour to not cancel any training course that you book, however, in order for certain courses to run we require a minimum number of participants as team working is often integral to the learning outcomes. Should we have the need to cancel a course you have booked we will contact you as soon as possible.

You can then choose:

  • A full refund

  • Alternative dates

What do I need to bring with me?

In the course descriptions there are requirements for numeracy and literacy, do I have to prove my qualifications?

Each course has its own specific requirements for PPE or equipment you would need to bring with you, this can be found in the drop down information section of the course you have selected.

Should you wish to book on a course that you do not have some, or all of the PPE or equipment required, then please get in touch before placing your order as we can often loan you the PPE or equipment you require (in most cases free of charge).

No, you don’t need to prove your qualifications. The requirements for numeracy and literacy stipulated in the course information are based on the examination process requiring a basic understanding of oral and written English language. Some training programs also require you to be able to read and interpret numerical readings such as working with gas detectors.

We can make reasonable adjustments for individuals with specific learning requirements, please get in touch with us before booking to ensure we can meet your needs.

What if English is not my first language?

As long as you can read and converse in English effectively then you are able to take part in the course and the examination process.

We cannot deliver training via the translation and interpretation of another person, electronic device, or learner in the group, as we cannot ensure that the information we are teaching is being interpreted exactly as we require.

However if you have a problem understanding specific terms but can read and speak English effectively we can explain the subject matter in other ways to aid understanding.

If you are in any doubt please contact us prior to booking.
