Who is this course for?
This training course is designed to give you an understanding of low, rescue from confined spaces and its associated legislation and requirements.
It is designed to give you the skills and knowledge to operate in a high risk rescue team under the supervision of a rescue team leader
The course is delivered in line with the national occupational standards and is externally accredited by City & Guilds awarding organisation.
What is covered on the course?
Although this is not an exhaustive list some of the key skills and knowledge you will gain include:
- Awareness of relevant legislation
- Rescue procedures and methodology
- PPE and rescue equipment such as tripods, winches, stretcher systems
- Emergency breathing apparatus (escape sets)
- Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
- Use of gas detection equipment
- Team casualty centred rescue approach
- Entry permits
- Work Permits
- Risk assessments and method statements
- Monitoring work teams in confined spaces
- Post incident procedures
How long is the course?
The course is delivered over 2 consecutive days with a mixture of classroom sessions and practical skills that you will develop in our rescue training facility in realistic scenarios that will engage and challenge you.
