City & Guilds Level 2 Award in Working in Medium Risk Confined Spaces (6160-02)
Who is this course for?
This training course is designed to give you an understanding of low and medium risk confined spaces and its associated legistation and requirements. An example of a medium risk confined space would be an environment where there is a realistic risk of encountering a specified risk and has a simple egress route (such as 1 vertical ladder).
The course is delivered in line with the national occupational standards and is externally accredited by City & Guilds awarding organisation.
What is covered on the course?
Although this is not an exhaustive list some of the key skills and knowledge you will gain include:
- Awareness of relevant legislation
- classifications of a confined space
- PPE and equipment emergency breathing apparatus (escape sets)
- Use of gas detection equipment
- Self rescue
- Entry permits
- Work Permits
- Risk assessments and method statements
- Working safely in confined spaces
- Dealing with emergency situations
How long is the course?
The course is delivered over 2 consecutive days with a mixture of classroom sessions and practical skills that you will develop in our Immersive Learning Suite in realistic scenarios that will engage and challenge you.
